The week’s memory work is Hebrews 10:24-25.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
See if you can recite the verse by memory with or without using the song you created on Monday.
Mission-shaped church must have its mission shaped by hope; that the genuine Christian hope, rooted in Jesus’ resurrection, is the hope for God’s renewal of all things, for His overcoming of corruption, decay, and death, for His filling of the whole cosmos with His love and grace, His power and glory.” He goes on to write: “To be truly effective in this kind of mission, one must be genuinely and cheerfully rooted in God’s renewal. As we prepare to celebrate the hope we have in Jesus’ resurrection, imagine God’s renewal of all things. Picture God filling the whole of the cosmos with His love, grace, power, and glory. Visualize His overcoming corruption, decay, and death.
Contemplate the genuine hope we have in Christ.
How has God worked to genuinely and cheerfully root you in God’s renewal of His work in you and His work in the world over the past seven weeks?
How has God worked to bring you closer to others on the journey, walking together to help each other with our next step to know and become like Jesus? What is God teaching you? What is He showing you?
Read Colossians 3:1-17
In celebration of Easter and also the ending of Renewal, meditate on Colossians 3:4
When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Don’t end this time with knowledge alone. Allow all God is teaching you to change you from the inside out. Live Renewal! Let Christ become your life more and more until the day you appear with Him in glory.
Pray
Heavenly Father, when I put off my old self, realizing Christ is at work in me, I am being renewed. I begin to bear with one another, forgiving one another as Christ has forgiven me. I put on love, and I let the peace of Christ rule in my heart. I let the word of Christ dwell in me, doing everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to You the Father through Him. Help me live each day renewed by You.
