project UPDATES

Ever since launching Making Room in October 2024, we’ve seen God moving powerfully. Our attendance is up 20%, reaching nearly 2,500 people in person and online. Saturday night services are thriving, and giving to OneFund has been strong. We broke ground on Phase 1 construction in June; through July and August crews installed drainage, base layers, and electrical/lighting conduits. Then paving was completed in September. Striping and landscape renewal finished up early October. Read more from the summer/fall timeline below.

June

Work began as crews staked project boundaries and delivered culverts. Early rains caused a few delays, but earthwork soon got underway at the driveway approach on 122nd Street, and excavation began to prepare for culvert installation.

July

Excavation continued around the south end of the building. Crews prepped the front for the new south parking lot and driveway, as well as the side access road and the rear facilities area. Large soil stockpiles appeared in the field, temporary mats protected existing pavement, and prep work advanced for drainage plus electrical and lighting conduits.

August

Base course materials were placed across the project area, forming the foundation for asphalt. With utilities and drainage prepped, the site was ready for final paving—bringing Phase 1 of Making Room to life.

September

The new south parking lot, driveway, and rear access road opened, marking a successful completion of Phase 1! This was an exciting first step in making room for more people at Jacob’s Well! Signs are posted on Saturdays and Sundays for entering and exiting, and the south driveway is left-turn only on exit. The new south parking lot adds approximately 90 new parking spaces! View Map

October

Crews have finished the parking lot striping, as well as the landscaping renewal all around the project. The new south parking lot is open for use and is already making a big difference in the reduction of congestion for our weekend services. We encourage anyone who goes home south on Hwy 53—please try using the south driveway to exit left and get on 53 south down by Costco.
